2 dead, 8 wounded in Trenton shooting, prosecutor says

The shooting happened at a "large, unauthorized adult gathering involving hundreds of people on a residential street," Trenton Mayor Reed Gusciora said in a statement posted on Facebook. The shooting happened on the 100 block of Locust Street in the Wilbur section of East Trenton around 12:25 a.m., Trenton police said.
Eight other victims — two men and six women ranging in age from 23 to 43 — were treated for their injuries and have been stabilized, according to the prosecutor. New Jersey Gov. Mikie Sherrill said on social media that she has been briefed on the shooting and Attorney Jennifer Davenport is in touch with local officials.
"I'm thinking of the families who lost loved ones, those who were injured, and the Trenton community," she said in the post. A 33-year-old woman and a 42-year-old man died from their injuries, the Mercer County prosecutor said in a statement.
One person lost their life, nine others were injured, and the individuals responsible must be held accountable," Paul Rutherford, the executive director of Cook County Crime Stoppers, said in a statement. More than 50 spent shell casings were found at the scene, and multiple vehicles were struck by gunfire, the prosecutor's statement said.
Police have not said whether anybody is in custody, but have said that their investigation is ongoing. They also mentioned that a suspect was seen by witnesses with an AR-15, according to CBS.
Authorities said the 14 victims ranged in age from 21 to 47. All of those victims were reported to be in good condition.
