Murder investigation after man found dead and child seriously injured

A male has been arrested on suspicion of murder and attempted murder A murder investigation has been launched after a man was found dead alongside a seriously injured child in County Tyrone on Saturday morning. In a statement, the police said the man’s body was found in a house in the Lisnahull Road area of Dungannon.
Sinn Féin councillor Deirdre Varsani, who is also chairwoman of Mid Ulster District Council, said: “My understanding is that there was a very serious domestic incident, certainly indications are towards the serious end of domestic incidents.
Northern Ireland Ambulance Service (NIAS) said they received a 999 call at 11:08 BST on Saturday, following reports of the incident. Police are currently at the scene and have said the public should avoid the area while enquiries continue.
