Russia threatened retaliation after prime minister Andy Burnham said Britain would give Ukraine access to technology to produce Storm Shadow missiles domestically. Maria Zakharova, Russia’s foreign ministry spokesperson, said the UK and France were “playing with fire”.
“Overnight, Russia carried out a massive strike against Ukraine, targeting ports, grain storage, energy, industry and other infrastructure with ballistic and hypersonic missiles and combat drones,” foreign minister Andrii Sybiha said.
