A Russian drone strike on a supply depot in Bucha, Kyiv Oblast, Ukraine, late on Friday triggered explosions and a fire, killing at least 37 people and injuring 42, including four children, according to regional head Tymur Tkachenko. The strike also forced the evacuation of almost 400 residents from the area.
Meanwhile, a separate attack in Boryspil district killed a 14-year-old, while a two-year-old died after a Russian drone crashed in Obolonskyi, according to Kyiv Mayor Vitaliy Klitschko. The Ukrainian army reported shooting down 233 Russian drones overnight, while Russian forces claimed to have targeted an ammunition depot in Myla, a village to the west of Kyiv.
The strike caused shells, mines, and drones to detonate, damaging nearby properties including a care home for the elderly and disabled, as reported by the office of Ukraine's prosecutor general. An investigation has been launched into the legality of the placement and storage of explosive objects and materials near residential buildings in Myla.
The conflict continues with further overnight strikes reported in Odesa, Dnipropetrovsk, Sumy, and Zaporizhzhia, as well as in other regions, with Ukrainian forces claiming to have shot down 233 Russian drones. Russian forces reported two people killed and 25 injured in strikes in the Belgorod and Rostov regions.
