Governor Sanders has announced nearly $150 million in Rural Health Transformation funds for Arkansas, emphasizing access to quality healthcare in rural communities. The funds will support the Recruitment Innovation Skills and Education for Arkansas (RISE AR) and Healthy Eating, Active Recreation, and Transformation (HEART) initiatives, with additional grants to be announced later.

The Rural Health Transformation Program, based on the idea that 'your access to quality health care shouldn’t depend on your ZIP code,' was launched by the Trump Administration. The program aims to improve health outcomes and financial sustainability in rural areas.
Just over a year ago, Governor Sanders tasked the RHTP steering committee with developing Arkansas’s RHTP plan to address poor health outcomes and need for financial sustainability, according to DFA Secretary Jim Hudson.
