Chelsea agree £7.5m fee for Villa's Martinez
Confirmed

Sanchez, who has been Chelsea 's first-choice goalkeeper since 2023, allowed Josh King's shot to slip through his grasp at the near post. Chelsea first expressed an interest in the defender when they signed right-back Marco Palestra from the Serie A side in July.
Martínez is expected to undergo a medical before completing the move, which comes after Aston Villa signed Japan international Zion Suzuki from Parma and made him their first-choice goalkeeper. The Blues signed forward Morgan Rogers from Villa for a club-record £117m, while Alejandro Garnacho moved in the opposite direction on an initial loan deal last month.
Ahanor, who mainly plays at left-back, joined Atalanta from Genoa on a three-year deal last summer for a reported fee of 16m euros, plus 4m euros in add-ons. The Italian club instead signed Tottenham goalkeeper Guglielmo Vicario on loan.
