STEVE DOOCY: THE DOLLY PARTON I SAW WHEN THE CAMERAS STOPPED ROLLING Parton even said that she could barely hear herself during her performance because the stadium was so loud. Having written thousands of songs across her decades-long career, Parton said songwriting was her greatest form of self-expression. "I’m just putting that all on hold," Parton said.

"I can’t afford the luxury of, you know, getting that emotional right now," she said during an appearance on Khloé Kardashian’s podcast, " Khloé in Wonder Land. She has described the Opry as the "church of my heart" and said performing there was a lifelong dream.
