Dolly Parton: The life of an iconic country singer
Confirmed

Parton’s publicist said in a statement on Tuesday that the famed musician had passed away peacefully in Nashville, Tennessee.
"Sadness lies with us, not with Dolly," Parton's nephew Brian Seaver said in a video announcement. “Dolly has lived in the light, and is in the arms of Jesus, surely met by Carl, her parents, and countless others who have watched her and longed for her to meet them in the heavens,” her nephew Bryan Seaver said in a video posted on Parton’s Instagram account. "Dolly also opened doors for generations of singers, songwriters, musicians and dreamers from every walk of life and across every continent," her nephew, Bryan Seaver, shared in a video statement he said Parton asked him to prepare. She came from poverty to become the most important native of Tennessee,” Kyle Young, CEO of the Country Music Hall of Fame and Museum, to which Parton was inducted in 1999, said in a statement. Not with the over-the-top, hyperfeminine look she'd cultivated for years: those piled-high blond wigs, stiletto heels and tight-fitting costumes she always said she had modeled after a woman from back home.
"It's my way of expressing myself," she said. Nearly six months later, at the seasonal opening of her Dollywood theme park, she said that she was still dealing with "a few little health issues" from which she was taking time to recover.
