Pew Research Finds Much of Internet Content May Be AI-Generated
Developing
In Short: A recent study by Pew Research Center indicates that a significant portion of internet content is likely written or edited by artificial intelligence.

Pew Research Center conducted an analysis to determine the extent to which AI is influencing online content. By using an AI detection tool, they assessed the likelihood that web pages were either written or substantially edited by artificial intelligence.
This finding aligns with previous research which has also suggested that a large percentage of recently published internet content is being created or significantly modified by AI systems.

What's still developing
- We then ran the text of those pages through an AI detection tool called Open Pangram to see how many of them were likely written or substantially edited by AI.
- This is in line with other studies that have shown that large shares of recently published pages on the internet were likely written or substantially edited by AI.
