The Israel Defense Forces (IDF) announced on Friday that a Hamas commander, Muhammad Bassam Mushtaha, who was accused of taking hostages during and after the Hamas-led attacks against Israel, was killed in a recent Israeli airstrike in northern Gaza on July 30.
According to the military, Mushtaha, a commander in Hamas’s Al-Shati battalion, was targeted as he attempted to advance terrorist plots against IDF forces and Israeli citizens.
In a separate incident, the IDF reported that a Hamas company commander, Hudhaifa Khaled Suleiman Qawari, was killed in an airstrike in the southern Gaza Strip on Thursday, for his involvement in training Hamas terrorists and restoring the group's capabilities.
The IDF has intensified its retribution campaign, aiming to eliminate every single terrorist involved in the October 7 massacre, as detailed in an analysis by The Times of Israel.
The IDF justified the strikes as self-defense and retaliation, emphasizing the threat posed by these commanders to Israeli forces and citizens.
