In Short: Above-average temperatures dominated much of the U.S. in July 2026, with notable exceptions in the interior and Alaska, while pockets of above-average precipitation were scattered across the West, Plains, and Midwest.
Above-average temperatures extended across the entire contiguous United States in July 2026, with much-above-average temperatures observed in the interior West, Southwest, Rockies, northern Plains, and Upper Midwest, as well as parts of the Gulf Coast and Southeast.
In contrast, below-average temperatures were noted in portions of the interior and the Alaska Peninsula and Panhandle.
Pockets of above-average precipitation were observed in parts of the West and Southwest, central Plains and Upper Midwest, as well as in Texas, the Tennessee and lower Ohio Valleys, Mid-Atlantic, and lower Northeast.
These weather patterns highlight the variability in climate conditions across the country during the month of July 2026, with both temperature and precipitation showing distinct regional trends.
