What we know

President Volodymyr Zelenskyy said Thursday that Ukrainian forces struck the Slavneft-Yanos refinery in Yaroslavl—nearly 700 km from the border—and the Bashneft-Novoil plant in Bashkortostan more than 1,300 km away, part of Kyiv’s campaign to cut oil revenues Moscow uses to fund the war. Yaroslavl governor Mikhail Yevrayev confirmed drone debris hit oil reservoirs, sparking a fire; he called it the region’s largest enemy drone attack, with four people injured and residential buildings damaged. Zelenskyy also said two military patrol boats and shadow-fleet vessels were hit in the Black Sea.

Inside Ukraine, authorities reported at least 11 civilian deaths Thursday: three in Balakliya and two at Lozova station in Kharkiv region, five in Dnipropetrovsk, and one in Odesa when Russia struck dry cargo ships. Kherson lost citywide power after a critical infrastructure hit; NetBlocks logged deep connectivity disruption. Ukraine’s Air Force counted four Russian missiles and 101 strike drones overnight, with 66 downed or jammed. Russia’s Defence Ministry claimed 605 Ukrainian drones intercepted and said it hit Ukrainian fuel, energy and transport sites.
