What we know

President Donald Trump said Thursday that the Board of Peace had reached an agreement for the “complete disarmament” of Hamas and other armed groups in Gaza, with Israeli forces withdrawing as disarmament advances and an International Stabilization Force plus a new Palestinian police force taking security roles.

U.S. and Board officials said Hamas communicated agreement to the final text through mediators, but timelines for heavy-weapons surrender and tunnel decommissioning could stretch hundreds of days. A senior Israeli official told BBC troops would not pull back from the Yellow Line without “genuine” Hamas disarmament; Hamas said it would not disarm before Israeli withdrawal obligations.
