U.S. Central Command said it completed a “heavy wave” of strikes against Iran overnight Wednesday into Thursday, hitting dozens of Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps targets—military command centers, missile and drone facilities, coastal surveillance and defense sites, and maritime capabilities—in response to Iran’s attempted ballistic missile attack on U.S. forces in Jordan.

Iran vowed the aggressor would be “punished today.” Jordan said it intercepted five Iranian missiles Thursday; Kuwait said a strike on a Chinese company’s building in the north killed one worker. Iran’s IRNA said three were killed on Qeshm island in the strait.
