Zelensky: Ukraine long-range strikes hit Iran-linked cargo vessels in Caspian Sea
Confirmed
What we know
President Volodymyr Zelensky said Saturday Ukraine achieved “very good results” with long-range strikes in the Caspian Sea, including against vessels used to transport military cargo linked to Iran. The Security Service of Ukraine said drones hit an oil platform in the northern Caspian, a Russian missile boat, and cargo ships under international sanctions.
Iran later said an Iranian commercial vessel was hit, killing a sailor—the first overt kinetic link between the Ukraine and Iran wars in open reporting.
