Tehran-backed Houthi forces in Yemen have escalated their conflict with Saudi Arabia by firing missiles and drones at two of Saudi Arabia’s most strategically important oil facilities on the Red Sea, in a major escalation of the latest regional conflict.
In response, Saudi Arabia launched airstrikes on the Houthi-held city of Hodeidah, leading to injuries from coalition airstrikes. The Houthi military spokesman, Yahya Saree, confirmed the attacks on Aramco facilities in the Red Sea cities of Jizan and Yanbu.
Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy claimed his country had achieved significant results with long-range strikes in the Caspian Sea, hitting Iranian military cargo shipments and a warship, and detected Russian satellite surveillance of Gulf states and US military facilities, which he passed on to Tehran.
Iran’s Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi called for diplomacy and dialogue to solve the Yemen conflict without military confrontations, as tensions continue to rise in the region over vital shipping routes in the Middle East.
