Jordan's military intercepted seven missiles and six drones launched from Iran, according to a military source at the General Command of the Jordan Armed Forces. The interceptions, carried out using aircraft, caused no casualties or damage, the source told Petra News Agency.
Earlier in the day, Iran announced it had carried out drone strikes against US personnel and facilities in Jordan and Bahrain. Bahrain's military also reported intercepting a number of 'air strikes' from Iran, though neither the US tech giant nor Bahrain have commented on Iran's claim to have targeted a data center belonging to Amazon in Bahrain.
Since July 8, Jordan has repeatedly intercepted Iranian missiles and drones crossing its airspace, as tensions escalated after US President Donald Trump announced the end of the ceasefire framework with Iran.
The attacks come amid a broader conflict in the region, with Iran's Revolutionary Guards claiming to have targeted a data center in Bahrain belonging to Amazon, though neither the company nor Bahrain have confirmed the claim.
