In a statement, McMaster expressed, 'Today, under the law, it's my duty to and honor to name someone to serve in the place of... this extraordinary man.
Nordone, who described it as an honor, said, 'Lindsey has always been there for me and now I will be there for him.
This move comes as South Carolina Governor Henry McMaster fulfills his legal duty to appoint a replacement for the late Senator.
