Rep. Torres' provisions, which are now law, include requirements for the Department of Homeland Security's Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) to report every death in custody. Additionally, nearly $10 million in state funding was announced to construct and outfit a cardiac catheterization lab at Lincoln Hospital, addressing a funding gap identified by Rep. Torres.
