Russian missile and drone strikes killed at least five people and injured ten others across Ukraine, including in Sumy where a drone attack on a residential building killed two women, an elderly man, and a toddler, and injured three others.
In Kryvyi Rih, a missile attack killed one person and injured seven others, damaging nine apartment blocks, a school, and several businesses. Ukraine's air force claimed to have shot down 476 out of 496 drones and 48 out of 74 missiles launched by Russia.
Ukraine's President Volodymyr Zelenskyy vowed retaliation for the attacks, stating that Russian President Vladimir Putin had been preparing for a massive strike.
The strikes come amidst a day of mourning in Kyiv following the deadliest Russian attack on the Ukrainian capital this year, and as Russia reported shooting down 155 of 496 Ukrainian drones over its regions and Crimea.
