Prior to this outbreak, the last case of cholera in Sudan was reported on January 14. The WHO and the Federal Ministry of Health have launched a training-of-trainers program in Khartoum City to strengthen the health system’s preparedness capacity to respond to emergencies and epidemics.
The conflict in Sudan has created one of the worst humanitarian crises in the world, according to Human Rights Watch, and aid operations are on the brink of collapse due to Sudanese paramilitary drone attacks.
