Three Men Die After Entering Septic Tank in Delhi

Three men died on Friday after inhaling toxic gases inside a septic tank at a factory in outer Delhi, according to the police. The Delhi Fire Service received an emergency call at 12:03pm and reached the site around 12:40-12:45pm.
The men, aged 32 to 42, were hired by Neeraj to clean the tank. Chand’s brother, Bashu, said nobody called the family for help and the men were not rescued until the fire service arrived.
Delhi Police registered an FIR under the Prohibition of Manual Scavenging Act and SC/ST Act, along with provisions of causing death by negligence. The bodies were shifted to Sanjay Gandhi Memorial Hospital for a post-mortem examination.
The incident highlights the dangers of manual septic tank cleaning without proper safety measures and the need for better regulation and enforcement in industrial areas.
