The Swiss foreign ministry confirmed that planned talks between Iran and the United States at the Bürgenstock Resort have been cancelled, following a U.S. vice president's decision.
Iran's foreign ministry spokesperson, Esmaeil Baghaei, has denied reports claiming the Strait of Hormuz has been closed, stating that the information is not true.
Baghaei, in comments carried by Iran’s semi-official Fars news agency, added that Iran's armed forces have taken necessary measures to ensure the safe passage of commercial vessels through the Strait of Hormuz, and shipping in the route is currently underway.
This denial comes after the cancellation of the planned talks between Iran and the United States at the Bürgenstock Resort in Switzerland.
