Kena Betancur / The New York Knicks’ first NBA title in 53 years drew a huge crowd outside Madison Square Garden and on the surrounding blocks, which ultimately led to dozens of arrests. Tens of thousands of fans gathered on the streets near MSG, the NYPD said. Police made 63 arrests related to Knicks celebrations, while 10 officers were injured. A 17-year-old was shot several blocks north of MSG and had to be taken to a nearby hospital by the police, the NYPD said, because an ambulance could not get through the crowd of celebrators.
