MANILA, Philippines — Sen. Jinggoy Estrada and former Public Works and Highways Secretary Manuel Bonoan surrendered to police on Monday, bringing the total number of accused in a plunder case to five, according to Interior and Local Government Secretary Jonvic Remulla.
Remulla, in a press briefing in Camp Crame, said he personally went to the Senate in Pasay City to enforce the Sandiganbayan warrant to arrest Estrada.
Bonoan and another co-accused surrendered to the Criminal Investigation and Detection Group (CIDG) headquarters in Camp Crame, while the other two surrendered to the Sandiganbayan in Quezon City.
Remulla noted that Bonoan underwent standard booking procedures, including fingerprinting, mugshot documentation, and medical clearance.
