The California Legislature has overwhelmingly passed Senator Scott Wiener's (D-San Francisco) bill SB 747, known as the No Kings Act, in a move to address the illegal detention practices of Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE).

In a statement, Senator Wiener emphasized, 'The only way to end ICE’s violent, lawless behavior is accountability. Today, the California Legislature stood up to hold them accountable.

Since last July, federal judges have ruled that ICE officials have illegally detained over 10,000 individuals without bond or due process, highlighting the need for legislative action to address these violations.
