Israeli strikes kill six in southern Lebanon amid fresh evacuation orders

Israeli air strikes killed at least six people across southern Lebanon on Sunday as the military issued fresh evacuation orders for more than a dozen villages in the south and eastern Bekaa, Lebanon's National News Agency and Al Jazeera reported. Raids hit towns including al-Namiriya, al-Duweir, Abba, Jebchit, Arab Salim and Bazouriyeh near Tyre; a paramedic was among the dead. AFP said Lebanon's health ministry raised the war toll since March 2 to 3,123 killed and that NNA counted strikes on more than 30 locations, while Hezbollah claimed more than 20 attacks with rockets, drones and artillery on Israeli forces and border sites.
The exchanges came despite a U.S.-brokered Lebanon ceasefire that began April 17 and amid U.S.-Iran talks that Tehran and Hezbollah chief Naim Qassem hope will fold Lebanon into a wider halt. Netanyahu said Trump reaffirmed Israel's right to defend itself on all fronts including Lebanon. Civil defence said its Nabatieh regional facility was destroyed overnight; AFP correspondents saw smoke over Nabatieh and other southern towns.
