What we know

Israeli air strikes across southern and eastern Lebanon on Saturday killed at least 20 people and wounded dozens, according to Lebanon's Health Ministry and state media, in a fresh wave of attacks despite a U.S.-brokered ceasefire with Hezbollah. Lebanese National News Agency reported deadly raids including in Al-Baqbouq north of Tyre and Seir al-Gharbiya in the Nabatieh district, while the Lebanese army said an Israeli strike on an army barracks in Nabatieh moderately wounded a soldier.

An overnight strike near Hiram Hospital in the Tyre district caused severe damage; AFP correspondents saw shattered glass, blown ceiling panels and damaged medical equipment. Hospital CEO Dr. Salman Aydibi told AFP about 40 patients, including seven in intensive care, were moved to safer areas inside the facility; no patients were harmed, but about 30 staff sustained minor injuries. Israel said it targeted Hezbollah infrastructure in Tyre after evacuation warnings. Hezbollah said it attacked Israeli positions including Iron Dome launchers at Biranit and positions near Maroun al-Ras.
