What we know

A drone strike on Sunday sparked a fire at an electrical generator outside the inner perimeter of the United Arab Emirates' Barakah Nuclear Power Plant in Abu Dhabi's Al Dhafra region, Emirati officials said, calling the incident an unprovoked terrorist attack and a dangerous escalation as U.S.-Iran diplomacy stalled.

The UAE Defense Ministry said three drones entered from the western border; two were intercepted and the third caused the generator fire. Authorities reported no injuries and no radiological release, with FANR saying all units continued operating normally. The IAEA said radiation levels remained normal, expressed "grave concern," and called military activity threatening nuclear safety unacceptable.
