Victor Wembanyama finished with 27 points, 17 rebounds, five assists and three blocks as the San Antonio Spurs beat the Minnesota Timberwolves 126-97 on Tuesday night in San Antonio, taking a 3-2 lead in their Western Conference semifinal series, AP, ESPN, CBS Sports and NBA.com reported Wednesday.

Wembanyama returned after a Flagrant 2 ejection in Game 4 and scored 18 in the first quarter. Keldon Johnson added 21, De'Aaron Fox 18 and Stephon Castle 17. Anthony Edwards led Minnesota with 20. The Spurs can close the series in Game 6 Friday in Minneapolis and would face Oklahoma City in the West finals.
