What we know

Israeli drone and air strikes across Lebanon on Wednesday killed at least 12 people in attacks on seven vehicles — including three on the coastal highway south of Beirut that killed a woman and her two children — and the Lebanese Health Ministry later said the day's toll rose to 22 including eight children, AP, BBC, Al Jazeera, AFP/France 24 and RTE reported.

The Israeli military said it struck Hezbollah infrastructure, weapons sites and rocket launchers in the south after ordering residents of six southern villages to evacuate. The raids came on the eve of U.S.-mediated Israel-Lebanon talks in Washington despite an April 17 ceasefire. UNIFIL warned that fighting near peacekeeper positions is rising, including presumed Hezbollah drones detonating near its Naqoura headquarters.
