What we know

U.S. President Donald Trump on Sunday rejected Iran's response to Washington's latest proposal to end the war, posting on Truth Social that the reply was "TOTALLY UNACCEPTABLE," AP, Al Jazeera, NBC, BBC and PBS reported.

Iranian state media said Tehran sent its counteroffer via Pakistani mediators, seeking an end to fighting on all fronts — including Lebanon — plus sanctions relief, release of seized assets, an end to the U.S. naval blockade and recognition of Iranian sovereignty over the Strait of Hormuz. Washington's proposal had pressed to reopen Hormuz and roll back Iran's nuclear program. Trump earlier accused Tehran of "playing games" for nearly 50 years. Gulf states also reported drones testing regional airspace and a ship off Qatar as the fragile ceasefire held without a formal collapse.
