President Donald Trump said Saturday he is reviewing a new Iranian 14-point proposal to end the war, conveyed via Pakistan, but cast doubt it would be acceptable, AP, NPR, NBC, Reuters and Al Jazeera reported. Speaking before boarding Air Force One in West Palm Beach, Trump said aides were giving him the exact wording and that he would "let you know about it later."

Iranian outlets said the plan would reopen shipping in the Strait of Hormuz, end the U.S. naval blockade, lift sanctions, release frozen assets and set a new Hormuz control mechanism while postponing nuclear talks. Trump posted that he "can't imagine that it would be acceptable" because Iran has "not yet paid a big enough price." CENTCOM said 48 commercial ships have been told to turn back under the U.S. blockade; Washington also warned shippers against paying Iran for Hormuz passage.
